Hello! I am new to the forum. I am a CA student and I am confused about the application process and how it intertwines with the DAT. Do I have to know what schools I will be applying when I take the DAT so that they know where to send the results? If this is the case I will postpone taking my test another year. I am currently finishing my sophomore year but have all the classes I need to take the DAT and am ready by this summer.

No, you don't have to know yet.
When you apply to take the test, it asks where you would like to send your scores. What I did, from the recommendation of a friend in DS, is basically just check every school or at least every school you may be considering. I believe sending the scores to schools when you're applying costs extra money, so this way just makes it easier.

When I took the DAT, I didn't know which schools I wanted to apply to so I just selected all schools. It's in your best interest to do that if you want to save money. You also never know if you may get interested in a particular school!
