Anyone else following what is going on in Cali with the big labs getting sued by the state? Sounds like the state is pissed that they havent gotten to pay "client" pricing for lab testing. Can you imagine if labs in Cali have to start charging Medi-cal patients "client" pricing? That would be a large loss of revenue for labs engaging in client billing.

The state should look at what the insurance companies are reimbursing rather than what labs are charging physicians though. Its not fair to compare a client price to what the state pays.

I'd be angry too, much as many people should be angry about the wild discrepancies in what various people, insurance companies, hospitals, physician practices, labs, etc. are being charged/charging for the same service (whether it's pathology or something else).

Im confused, basically the state is suing claiming because they paid more than other payors that is FRAUD? What?!

Sate is overpaying for prison guards, gubberment bureucraps and all sorts of crap! The state probably overpays for toliet paper, are they going to sue Charmin?!

Hahaha, basically the state can pass a law claiming they "automatically get the lowest available rate"..how is that fair? Its laughable.

California is held hostage by labor unions who charge NOWHERE NEAR THE MARKET RATE, yet Brown is going after labs?

this is insanity.

The article is also 2 YEARS OLD! I think this went absolutely nowhere in the courts guys.

The case is still going on. Quest has agreed to pay like 250 million dollars to settle. The Dark Report has been covering what is going on in the last few issues.
