the day was a tad disorganized, with nobody to greet us, security guards preventing us from entering the floor without our driver's licenses, and paucity of tour guides. however, i have to give them the benefit of the doubt since the poor interview coordinator, albeit very nice, has just inherited the task a few months ago.
there's been a very recent change in the leadership of the program. program director, Dr. Andre Bieniarz, just left for a position in chicago, so an interim director, will be fillng in starting this week.
otherwise, 4 interviews: a chief resident, chair of urogyn, mfm attending, cytopath attending. all were very benign and friendly. meeting with dept chair was also very benign. just a lot of discussion regarding our backgrounds.
lastly, lunch with two residents. was hoping for more, but didn't get to meet many others.
p.s. regardless of what you hear about the LA county closing harbor, it is highly unlikely that it will ever happen, at least during our training.
