California Transitional Year Programs

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
didn't interview at either of the ones you asked for, but the transitional year at santa clara valley isn't bad. quite a different animal than the prelim medicine year. 2 months of either surgery/OB/peds, 3-4 months of medicine, 1 month ED, 1 month outpt clinic, and lots of electives. some of the transitional interns have done research for a month, some are doing a coroner's office rotation... lots of freedom. the medicine faculty at valley are overall relaxed and friendly and the residents (at the least the interns) try to be social as often as we can. i wanted to do the transitional program (since they're supposed to have some spots reserved for stanford anesthesia) but they totally dissed me and didn't even bother interviewing me. *shrug*
