Hello all! Does anyone have insight into what exams are still required for a California veterinary license? I have heard that since January of 2022, the state board exam has been voted to no longer be required and now only the veterinary law exam is necessary. However, when I made a BreEZe account, it stated that the board exam would be required, but at the end of the application I was only charged for the license processing fee and law exam (no state board exam). Any insight is appreciated so I can study/find a testing center if needed!

AB 1535 invalidated the California State Board Examination (CSBE), effective Jan. 1, 2022.

At present, veterinarians must pass two examinations to practice veterinary medicine in California: the North American Veterinary Licensing Exam (NAVLE) and the Veterinary Law Examination (VLE).
