I am confronted by a question on one of my PAT practice tests- I don't know how I overlooked this aspect before, but in the apertures part:

I know the aperture can be bigger than the object, but do the contours have to match exactly or can it be any aperture that will just let the object pass through?

would appreciate any input
thanks

the anwser will almost always be a perfect fit. Just because it can pass through a hole may not be the right anwser. It should be a snug fit so to speak. there is always one anwser that it will fit perfectly into. I usually looked at each anwser choice and decided which way side they were talking about, then see if that was the right choice.

From the Kaplan classroom course (that was taught by a dental student who got a 24AA22PAT)

-Eliminate the obvious wrong answers right away.
-Look at the 3d diagram given and make a quick top, front and end perspective in your head so you know what it looks like when viewed from the axis X, Y and Z. (the sides)
This will normally automatically eliminate all but 2 choices after which small details can be deciphered and distinguished between apertures to match the correct one to the model.

It takes a little time at first but I just started to study for my 2nd time around (after forgetting everything from the 1st time i took the test; about 1 1/2 years ago) and i was up to speed in about 5-6 questions....
