Calling all residents: extra books?

Please venture your opinion: did any of you buy additional textbooks/review books/pocket reference books other than the regular books provided by your departments for textbook reviews (i.e., Bolognia, Andrews, Spitz, etc)? What do you feel would be helpful for a first year resident to have?

Resist the urge to splurge on books now, before you start.

Once you get there, your co-residents will tell you what to buy. Your department will have books in their library or in the clinics, and you can leaf through them there. You'll also find out what online access you have to books.

Good advice....I should have remembered how useless most of the books you ended up purchasing in med school were 🙂
