Calling/Emailing schools for feedback

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
For those of you that were not accepted into a dental school, did you email or call the school to ask them for feedback on your application?

I was thinking of emailing them so that they would at least have some sort of record of me contacting them.

I'm just not quite sure how to phrase my email. I'm sure they get a lot of these, so I don't want to annoy them but I want to show that I am looking to improve and it would be nice to get some constructive feedback.

Any recommendations on what type of things to ask/avoid?

I was going to ask about:

- any prereqs I was missing or credits they did not accept
- if they would recommend completing a masters or just continuing with the informal post-bacc I am already completing
- if there is anything else I can do to improve my application

Should I discuss why I'm interested in their school or just cut to the chase and ask about improving my application?

The bold you should be able to figure out. You can always see if they are willing to discuss. Some institutions still maybe recovering from the cycle and getting the D'13 class ready.

You should be able to answer the GPA related questions, but asking them wouldn't hurt.
