Just want to know if anyone has called those schools that specifically state that an applicant should NOT call to check on the status of their application...I'm speaking of Emory and NYU in particular. It's always nerve-wracking to pick up that phone and call...sometimes it is great and works to your advantage, other times you just get a snippy response and feel like you blew it. Anyway, thanks for the feedback!

Calling a school that says "DON'T CALL" is like injecting yourself with a needle when you don't know the contents of it.

Sure it may be vitamins, and no harm comes of it...but what if it's Heroin?

I think the potential for harm is greater than any piece of mind that you can gain from calling. Schools don't usually tend to give out information over the phone anyways, so what's the point.
