Hey everyone, I'm just curious as to if there are schools you should def. not call. Some of them specifically say that. Also, I tried calling Rose Mangold from PITT today to check the status (make sure everything was in that needed to be in / complete), and the vmail message said to direct it to her email. I ddi that a few weeks back with no response, but have heard nothing otherwise from PITT. In these situations, should I still call even though they say not to???

Call them. It won't hurt you and I'm sure they won't make a note of it in your file. If it wasn't for me calling the schools I have applied to, two of my processing fees would have remained in the wrong file and my application would have gone on hold and me not knowing about it.

Sometimes it sends you to their voicemail, leave one with specific question, and your number and ask them to return it. If you have sent an email and have no response, leave a voicemail: "Hi, this is xxxxx. I am leaving this message because I have not received a response to the email I sent 3 weeks ago. I am calling to verify..."

Take care.

i tried to call her as well and it goes straight to voice mail...
Its been 6 weeks since my DAT and I am still not complete there!
( this is the last place that didn't receive my dats)

Ugh! I feel that! I just tried calling UMD and the lady said they don't do any confirmation over the phone... and I just have to wait.

!!!

hiya how long do you wait, after sending in your processing fee, before you call them?

I did this exact same thing. I tried calling her multiple times and just continued to get set to voicemail. The only time I got through was when she was at lunch, and they just told me to call back in an hour (which I did, and started the voicemail trend again...). I also emailed her and haven't heard anything back from her. I'm getting a little frustrated as Pitt is my first choice. Glad to hear its not just me...

Remember this when getting frustrated. Imagine you are the secretary or admissions dean and you get 100's of calls a day asking what the status is or 'am i complete'. I would set it to voice mail too.😀

Patience.

Isn't that their job though? Meant to say that in the nicest way possible? you would think schools would make it a priority to see to it that their applicants have been notified. That is why I appreciate schools with e-mail updates. Keeps me from bugging them.
