calling UT

Hello,
I was wondering what everyone thinks about calling UT on Friday to see if they have made a decision. Dr. Brace said they should have a decision by then, and he was probably going to get letters out by Friday. A friend of mine applied to dental school, and they welcomed people calling to find out if they got in or not (before they got the letter). I know it is only a few more days to wait for a letter, but I figured if they wouldn't mind people calling, then it wouldn't hurt.

So, are there any thoughts on if this would be irritating to whoever would have this info, or do you think they wouldn't mind?

I know they couldn't tell me over the phone last year. I also know that Deborah Shepherd gets really busy at this time of year (and she handles most of this).

I know you are anxious. Calling won't improve your chances, but it isn't going to hurt, either, if it will make you feel less anxious. I doubt you will be able to get anyone to give you a decision by phone, though.

But take heart, because you WILL get a letter early next week. Fingers crossed for you!

Ahh I'm so nervous to hear from them! I think my interview went well, and it's my last chance for this cycle (waitlisted at 2 other schools though)...and I'm still trying to find a cell bio course over the summer! Dean Brace said if I got accepted, it would be on the condition that I pass cell bio in a summer session...but apparently there is no summer cell bio in the tristate area! 😱

Check out the university of Guelph the have an online course. It was over two months and somewhat challenging. you have 5 online assignments and 1 test, but they accepted it for last year, so they'll probably accept it again thi year (but check first!).

I guess I will just wait. I don't want to bother Deborah Shephard, because like you said, I am sure she is very busy. Next week can't come soon enough! (UT is the only school I applied to, so I am very ready to hear something!🙂 )

Middle Tennessee State University (my undergrad that I am at now) has a Cell and Molecular Biology class available in the summer. It is Mon,Tues,Wed,and Thurs from 7:30 AM-12:30PM (this includes lecture and lab). It runs from 6/2/08-7/3/08.

thanks Kat! I'll look into that. I also just got a summer session brochure from Tufts, and they have a cell and molecular bio class too.

Decisions are (hopefully) being made today or tomorrow! Eek! This week can't seem to go fast enough!
