At the school I go to we're the main service club for the campus and we organize both campus wide service projects and club service projects.

The other day at a meeting someone was talking about getting a scholarship for service hours and they were told to include the hours that we're having meetings/setting stuff up.

I personally have not been recording meeting time or time to set up, just the times where I'm actually _doing_ service, should I be including those other times?

I had a service-related scholarship as an undergrad, and they counted service in two ways: "community service," service projects for community groups, and "campus service," which counted work done as part of leadership positions for other organizations.

I plan on breaking up my service on my AMCAS into similar groups. I was involved heavily in a service organization, and I'm going to list my service projects as one item and my leadership positions (and hours spent on them) as another.

Counting meetings as "community service" would be a stretch, I think, but setup for projects? Sounds like fair game to me. Ultimately it's your call, I think, and I would suggest doing whatever you feel comfortable with.
