can 2x2 photo be a selfie?

sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm wearing a professional suit in the selfie I'm planning on using. It is also pretty close-up, so the committee should be able to see my face clearly.
 
As long as the background is plain you should be fine. It's merely for the adcoms to identify you if they decide to invite you for an interview.
 
Although the 2x2 is mainly for identifying you during your interview and to put a face behind an application, sending Adcoms a flattering "selfie" may not be the most mature thing to do when applying to professional schools.
 
I took a selfie for all of my application pictures. It was fine.
 
Unless you can see your arm holding the camera or take it from an odd angle, I would say it's pretty difficult to determine if a picture is a selfie or not.

I did a selfie this year actually for one of my secondaries.but I edited my photo to make sure it looks good as well.
 
Mine were selfies. The program I cropped them with made the appropriate size 2x2 photos, but also literally quadrupled the photos and placed them in a 2x2 arrangement.

I laughed and sent them in anyways.
