Can a person finished a ACGME accredited PGY-1 training apply a new residency position through ERAS?

Apply a new residency position through ERAS in the same specialty. For example, finished PGY-1 in internal medicine, and reapply for a new internal medicine position through ERAS?

Or this person can only apply for a PGY-2 position ?

You can apply for PGY1 again, but you're going to have to tell them the story of what happened, even if you're not willing to tell us.

I’m going to lock this thread. You asked a similar question in the fall but with much more useful details, and received good advice.

The short answer is yes you can apply for either, but if there is a fundamental problem in your application it likely will not matter.
