I was wondering if any columbia postbacc alumni or current students could give a review of the program there. Though I have heard alot about the columbia program from students from others schools such as goucher and bryn mawr, I have not heard from any first hand experiences. Besides an overall review of the quality of the program...I've heard that the program at columbia is very cut-throat and that there is a very high attrition rate, so I was wondering how true this is. Also, since the columbia program is so large relative to other postbac programs, how common and how hard is it to participate in a linkage program?

Thanks!

Hi guys. I need advice as well.

I'm uncertain of my chances of getting bc I've taken everything (bio, chem, physics) except orgo and the Columbia postbac website states that "Students are not eligible for admission if they have completed most or all of the required premedical courses...".

Does anyone know if they enforce that much? See, I took my those course 4,5 years ago and would def be willing to do again since I need a refresher anyway for the MCATS, which I've never taken. Although, last semester I took the Chem 1 course to go proceed w/ this premed prep and got a B+.

What do you guys think at least as far as eligibility given that I'm willing to take these classes again?

Other info: Undergrad major in Biological Anthropology, minor in Bio-- 3.3 GPA; Master of Public Health at Columbia Univ-- 3.8 GPA; 3 years of clinical trials experience; a couple of publications...

hi!

i was actually wondering if anyone in Columbia's program knows if they accept transfer postbac students? I'm currently enrolled in another program, which I had expected to be much better than it is turning out to be. I'm thinking it would be better to transfer ASAP (if possible) rather than finish this program and possibly not get into med school at all!😱
would any Columbia postbaccers (current or past) PLEASE be able to provide a bit of advice even by PM?

thanks in advance!
