I can't stand waiting for interviews and such... I have an interview this thursday and my grades are starting to fall because I literally can not (0%) focus on my schoolwork... Anyone else having this problem?

Yeah it's seriously hard to drag myself away from the computer and checking status to get anything done. Plus I think I'm getting a bit of senioritis...

i have missed so many classes is not even funny, i think i am gonna get straight Bs this semester

Yea, I might get a B avg too this semester, does that f with my acceptances? (if I get any ><)

Are you kidding? I have never been able to focus on schoolwork. I've just been really lucky with bribing teachers and professors over the past 15 years.

YES! It's horrible. I am so glad you posted this. I was beginning to think it was just me. I've never had trouble focusing like I have this semester. Luckily, I don't think it is really hurting my grades too badly, because I have a lot more free time due to not having to study for the MCAT etc anymore.

yep...missed a week and a half of this semester due to interviews...
now I am ridiculously behind, and in the midst of exams.

sucks

seriously

Same here, I'm so unfocused right now it is ridiculous. I try to sit down and study but I just end up thinking about admissions. Sheesh...this process needs to end NOW!!!.

The funny (and sad) thing is that posting on sdn is probably the worst thing for us... eek.. now I am writing a post on a topic in the forum about how bad posting within sdn is for me... Hypocrite😕?

My grades are dropping too. I just (1) can't focus and (2) don't care. I've also suddenly realized how much of college life I have been missing out on these past three years...

YESYESYESYES all I want to do is check SDN, mdapps, refresh my email, and obsessively read over secondaries that I have already submitted. And when I finally do sit down to study...my mind usually wanders to how I will answer such and such question when I go to interviews....

And thanks to my late mcat test date, it looks like this torture will be dragged out until next semester🙁 My dream right now is to get accepted to a decent school so I can withdraw half of my applications (to the safety schools)....even better....maybe Mayo😍 will call tomorrow to invite me for an interview this weekend and then I will have been accepted next week at this time. Then I'll withdraw from EVERYWHERE! teehehe yeaaaa its fun to dream🙂 :luck::luck:

I'm in this boat. I just feel as though I'm beyond all of these senseless classes. I want to start learning what is pertinent to my career, and not all of this excess rubbish. I will probably end up with 2 A's and 3 B+'s.

Er, yeah, about grades. Let's just say, if I don't get in this year, I'm screwed for good. I am going out more/having more fun though, it's not just the application neuroticism.

I've been having a hard time, but because I'm not really guaranteed anything, I have simply been forcing myself to do well. I've gotta get a 4.0 this semester so I can impress schools and maybe shift things in my favor to get off waitlists and get late interviews.

This thread makes me feel better about my life.

All I think about is the next interview I am going on and hearing back from schools. I constantly check my email and regular mail and have such a hard time keeping up with schoolwork. Having many interviews is such a blessing, but missing a ton of class makes it even more difficult to keep up.

Oh please let me hear tomorrow!!!!!!!!

This is EXACTLY how I feel. I am definitely having an end-of-college crisis, and its scaring the **** out of me. Every day goes by is one day closer to the end which is so exciting, and another day likely wasted...

haha I get distracted by the dumbest stuff. Paintball, Mexican food cravings, watching videos of nasty aliments on YouTube, pottery, eclectic hobbies, Netflix, beer and tons of others. At times my mind is painfully far from school work. When comes to do my work, I just know I have to take care of business. I have just learned to bite the bullet and do my work. Sometimes I do feel like I have missed out on some college "extracurricular" activities. Some sacrifice is just part of getting to medical school, I suppose.
When the work load has been dealt with I drink a few brews.

Random: I have a prescription for adderall. Its great for when you really focus on the typical random stuff that crosses your mind. haha

Can't focus/concentrate/stay interested either. It's bad! but hanging in there... Some schools we're accepted to are kind of vague in their academic maintenance requirements, so I'll try to do my best but won't be devastated over a few B's 😎

Goodness, such nerds! all worried about B's when most of our peers find B's excellent 😛
