I don't really know how this whole sponsored/accountable/WHICHE thing works. What's the difference between all these? The ADEA guide says that 135 OOS were interviewed. But most of them were from the western states. Should someone from the east coast just not bother applying?

WICHE is for states that don't have a dental school. So states like North Dakota, Arkansas, Wyoming etc. Basically it is because we don't have a state school, so we don't get preferential admission anywhere (perhaps a little bonus to neighboring states). That doesn't mean you shouldn't apply though I don't think. If you think your views align with UC and you have a good GPA/DAT then go for it! 👍

I wish the east had something like that! People from states like Mass and Rhode Island have no state schools that give preferential admission to them. Only the more expensive private schools that take people from everywhere. 🙁
