can anyone explain this?

on my way out the door here but when i looked at it, the second set of cards that appear seem to be modified. i saw a king with small clubs, but large spades, and a jack with small hearts but large diamonds in the background of the card. i think the illusion has something to do with this visual confusion. only had time to check it once more and it seems to hold true each time.

Oldest trick in the book. Notice how all the cards are royals. That's why it's visually confusing. The second "set" of cards which they only show you for a second has NONE of the first set in them. E.g., in the first set they may have a King of clubs but and king of diamonds, but in the second, they have king of hearts and king of spades. No visual confusion, just a stupid trick where they don't let you see anything for long enough. Get it?
