Does anyone have any experience or know someone that got off any waitlist with not so great stats? I am thinking that it is all about stats now and am looking for someone to prove me wrong! 😳

Do updates matter? Does it all just come down to GPAs/MCATs? 🙁

Updates matter, but mainly because they demonstrate interest. It is all about whether or not you will come if admitted at this stage. Have you written a letter of intent to the school? Also, if you remember one of your interviewers that you got along well with, email them and explain the situation. They may very well advocate for you to get in (even though I was just a student interviewer, I pushed for a kid to get in once and now he's a 3rd year). It was all about stats to the interview stage, and then somewhat about that when you were waitlisted. After that, it is all about passion. Good luck!

agreed! Definitely send a letter of interest if you haven't already. It certainly cannot hurt! 😳

Yeah, I definately already have sent LOIs. I am sending my last update letter tomorrow morning... 🙁

Can anyone tell me if you or someone you know has gotten off a waitlist with less than stellar stats but was very persistant and active on the waitlist?

I wrote to the provost and sent some extra LOR's. Do you think that would help?
