Good school, good curriculum, near West Virginia (65 miles down I-79) if you like fresh, non-polluted air. It's probably one of the more underrated schools in the country. The UPMC medical system is very good, widely respected nationally, and it is used for many of the residencies and rotations Pitt offers. A girl from WVU is doing the oncology residency up there and someone told me she loves it.
Most importantly, there is a Dave and Buster's down Interstate 376 off exit 5, the Squirrel Hill/Homestead exit. God knows you need one of those.
The only bad part about attending Pitt and living in Pittsburgh is that you would then become a "yinzer" and I would automatically be forced to "hate you". The school's football team also sucks as evidenced by my motto to the left.
Though I must admit that the people in Pity's Burgh are my type of folks. Blue collar, very unpretentious, easily bested at trivia at Dave and Buster's. Cheap cost of living, lots to do, close to Canada. I love the town, I really do.
