The one thing to add is that taking call is more or less inevitable in almost every single dermatology job. Some groups have you on call 100% of the time for all of your personal patients, and other groups put you on call every X weeks (depending on the number of physicians in the group) in which case you cover all patients seen by all doctors at the practice for a week/month at a time. This type of call is almost entirely phone/home based, and almost never has hospital/ER responsibilities (although there are a minority of groups/institutions that do this). It's going to be extremely hard to negotiate taking 0 call, but the call you do take tends to be very light and rarely involves having to go in or deal with anything super acute.
