This was the first place I could think of that would give me another opinion aside from the vet I'm seeing with my pup..

I have a 2 1/2 year old Siberian Husky who seems to have some digestive issues. She was on a raw food diet for the first two years of her life, and then all the sudden she stopped being able to digest it. Since then, the vet has put her on Royal Canine LF prescription diet because she was having to go in for visits a lot due to diarrhea. The diarrhea started when she caught a tape worm from (it seems to be) a rabbit that she caught. The rabbit had fleas and the vet believes that's where it came from. Anyway, since then, she's had on and off bats of diarrhea and so the vet put her on the Royal Canine.

Was just curious what you guys think about the Royal Canine prescription food, and if you think there's something better out there?

Thanks for any opinions 🙂

Can you describe what she was getting while on the raw diet? Was it a commercial blend like Nature's Variety, home prepared BARF style, whole prey model, or something else? There are almost infinite ways to do a home prepared diet, whether cooked or raw.

We were doing it on our own, BARF style, based off Dr. Billinghurst's books. Basically, it was the raw meat, the added varieties of veggies (under ground and above ground), and the omega 3 supplements.

Your veterinarian likely made their recommendation based on medical history and actually being able to examine your dog. It would be giving medical advice to give you an opinion about this even if there are people on this forum which have nutrition backgrounds
