Can I count Assisting hrs as shadowing hrs?

Hey everyone!

I assisted for about 20 hours before I became a dental assistant. In my dental assisting program we had to shadow assistants and the dentist for 40+ hours. On my AADSAS app should I put that I shadowed for 20 or 60?

Does my time in the dental assisting school count? I mean I was learning about various procedures used in general dentistry?

Yes, assisting counts. In fact I think it has more importance since you're doing hands-on work. So don't lump it together with shadowing. Put a separate entry for assisting.
