I'm being hired onto a scribe job where I'll be working with 2 physicians - 1 in Gastro and 1 in Neuro (I think). It'll be mostly in a clinic setting, but I'll also be doing rounds with them in the hospital. It's a 5 day/week job, so it'll limit my ability to shadow as much as I'd like to. As of now, I only have about ~30 hours w/ a MD anesthesiologist. In addition, I'm volunteering 4 hrs/week at a different hospital and I'll also be studying for the MCAT which I originally was planning on taking in late april/early may. However, with the new job, I'm thinking of pushing it back until a June testing date. Is it possible for me to relocate some of the scribe hours to shadowing hours?

I also plan to find a DO at some point so I can get a LOR and ~30 shadowing hours - pref. in a primary care field.

I wouldn't. Find that DO and shadow him/her for 20+ hours. Shadowing 50+ hours overall, half of which is a DO, is solid enough. No need to try and get cheeky.

Cheers!
