Ok, since my MCAT in May I've had a lot of downtime and having never watched it before I started with the first episode of Scrubs.

I just finished the the 169th (final) episode of Scrubs and I've learned so much about medicine....shouldn't this count as an EC? And maybe even clinical experience???

Disclaimer: MD & DO primaries are already verified, this is a joke; except for the part of having watched the entire series--that unfortunately is true.

If only. As far as clinical experience, no, since you can't smell the patients (to paraphrase LizzyM).

. . . having watched the entire series. . .
👍
I started to do this once a few years back, but got bogged down somewhere around season 3. ~i'm not sure what happened 😕

Maybe I should try to pick it back up. I've heard bad things about the last season, though (when it switched networks). Should I skip that one?

What was your viewing schedule? One a day? Double up on weekends?

When I was a teacher in China, I did not have to hold class during finals (mine was only a "fun" class), which essentially gave me a couple weeks extra vacation. Wanting to make the most of this time, I held a marathon viewing session and watched every single episode of Friends - believe it took me 4-5 days total.

Thinking back on it now, I'm not sure how I actually managed to have the willpower to do that o_0

I watched through season 8. 1-7 were NBC; season 8 was the same cast but ABC so I watched...not too bad. Season 9 is where they changed the cast, and I had heard bad things so I didn't watch.

Well the people who finished Tough Mudder last week all smelled like, well, a farm, so can I count that as a clinical experience? 😛

Holy crap. I would've never admitted it. But I did the same thing this summer.

I watched it so much. I started to think in scrubs like punch lines and self-musings in my real life.

Did that a few years ago, finished watching them about half-way through season 7. Advice for anyone going down this path: do NOT watch season 9. Or, at least, do not watch it thinking about how much you love Scrubs. As a separate show, it's really not all that awful, but as part of the Scrubs universe it's painful. I mean, really? Scrubs without JD? That's like KFC without chicken.
