I just finished my 1st year in college, and I really don't know much info about how to be ready for my application.
I just went to AADSA website, made an account, and saw checklists including my information and personal essay.
I got questions for that website that i just went, so if u know answers for any of these questions, could u please answer these for me?

Do I need to finish these checklist right before I apply for school? or can I just finish my background info and essay now, and finish dat, payment later(after 2 years)?

*Application Fee question~!
"AADSAS Application Processing Fee
The initial processing fee is $195 for the first dental school; $60 for each additional school up to 10; $50 for each additional school from 11-20; and $25 for each additional school over 20. The processing fee table is located on the menu bar under the Instructions tab."

I thought someone in this website says first 4 schools are free, and 10 dollars for each additional school. isn't it true?

*research activity question~!
what's research activities that this website requires me to write?
I just don't understand what research activities I may need to involve before I write this info.

and it may sounds dumb, but i just went to "Extracurricular, Volunteer, Community Service, Leadership Activities, Dentistry Job Shadowing" section and it says write limit of 10 experience. I copied and pasted below, so I hope you guys can tell me where I need to write those 10 experiences. I mean I worked for more than 1 organization, but there is only 1 space for name of organization. It says I need to write month i started and ended, but if i do many different activities, i cannot just write start date for 1 activity, so i am confused here again.

Name of Organization:

Position Title/Brief Description:

Total Number of Hours Over Span of Experience:
(0-99999)

Average Weekly Hours:
(0-999)

Month of Start Date:

Year of Start Date:

Month of End Date:
Year of End Date:

D schools require a minimum of university units before you can apply... generally around 90 units / 2 years worth.

the four schools free and 10 dollars after that are for the DAT test fee. AADSAS cost much more.

Its good that you are looking into the applciation process right now, but you are still way to early to apply. Unless you are Mr. Superstudent, I wouldn't apply for matriculation until the year of your gradutation (assuming you graduate in spring). Keep your grades up high and you'll be in a good position. Shadow a dentist and get to know them on some level as well. Go volunteer.

As for the DAT, you can probably take it after you finish O chem, but not more than 2 years before the year you apply. Alot of people actually don't take it untill the summer of their application.

Good luck and welcome aboard!

does that mean additional DAT test fee costs 10 dollars and application costs 60 more dollars so total of 70 more dollars for additional school?

Yes, it is very expensive. Add on top of the initial AADSAS fees and DAT fees secondary application fees, interviews, and eventually at least one deposit.

But no worries. You are way too early to be anxious about this! Good luck.
