Can I not get accepted until I finish up my senior year?

This is my first post, so I'm sorry if this is a really obvious question.

I'm currently in my senior year at an Ivy and am in the process of applying for post-bac programs. I was browsing this forum and came across a couple posts where people in the same situation were saying that their acceptance is contingent on their final grades. I'm graduating in May 2008, so does that mean that even if I get all of my application materials in now, I won't know until May after I send in my final transcript? The schools I'm applying to are Bryn Mawr, Goucher, Johns Hopkins, Penn, Tufts, etc.

Thanks in advance.

I knew kids senior year who already knew they were doing postbacs at Columbia, so -- I'm reasonably confident that you can get accepted before your final grades, are in. (I assume it's the same as with college; they might make noises that if grades fall off precipitously, your acceptance is rescinded. But how often does that happen? And how easy is it at an Ivy to even get terrible grades in the first place?)

Does anyone else know?

Thanks so much.

"acceptance is contingent on their final grades" means just that. you are accepted to the program as long as you meet their requirements: (a) pass all your courses and (b) graduate.

I understand that, but is that for most or all of the schools? I've only seen that written on the websites for a couple of them.
