Can I reschedule?

So I'm scheduled to take the DAT at the very beginning of March but I don't feel that I will be ready. Problem is, I "applied" to take the DAT last march (07) but plans changed with graduation etc. so i didn't actually sign up to take it until this year. I need to call the ADA i guess but i was just looking for some quick feedback. After 1 year do i need to pay again?

You can reschedule up to 24 hrs (?) before the exam for a $10 fee. The specifics are somewhere on the ADA site.

i meant, will i have to pay for the test again ($180 or whatever it is) since it'll be over 12 months since i applied

i'm in the same boat, i signed up for last march and ended up rescheduling to this march but i'm not ready for it. 🙁
so basically you can reschedule as much as you want for $10 a shot but only up to a year? and after a year you have to repay the whole fee to reschedule the test? is that what you had to do?

yes i had to re-apply and re-pay. plus the $10 cancelation fee and i added more schools so in the end...$465.....i'm hoping i only need to take it once!

Man that's a lot of money. You know you can reschedule for 10 bucks right? I mean, that's so much money and I can even feel your pain. 👎

I couldn't reschedule because it had been a year since I applied and I still hadn't taken it. So I had to pay $10 to cancel and $255ish to re-apply (and I added more schools), then ~$200 down the toilet from the test I never took. I called the ADA and they said that was my only option...👎thumbdown👎

If your test date was a day which was past your expiratoin date why did they let u sign up or how did u manage to sign up? Do they just let u do it, so ur forced later on to pay the extra 10 dollars cancellation fee?

my friend he applies to take DAT on july 21, if he gets a low grade, can he reschedule for another one (90 days after that exam), do he still have to pay 190$$ again???

If your test date was a day which was past your expiratoin date why did they let u sign up or how did u manage to sign up? Do they just let u do it, so ur forced later on to pay the extra 10 dollars cancellation fee?

No they didn't let me sign up past the expiration date. That's why I had to re-pay. I didn't think I'd be ready.

He will have to pay again.

Yes. Unless you just rescheduled your test to a different date. In that case you will just have to pay the rescheduling fee.
