Can I retract a Letter of Recommendation from an individual school?

After the schools receive my LOR's can I retract one because I have another one to turn in and it's already over their limit of 5? Or because I just don't need that one anymore?

Schools are usually pretty lenient and will take more than 5 if you call in to ask.

I'm pretty sure they won't just disregard an already submitted letter..it seems too suspicious.
