I am in the process of assigning LORs to my schools and after doing some research on the requirements, I noticed that most schools require a committee letter OR three individual letters (with at least 2 of them being form science professors).

Well, I have a total of 4 individual LOR, 2 letters from ER docs from my job as a scribe, 1 letter form a non-science professor (from my other major in piano performance), and 1 letter from my research advisor. I also have a committee letter form the pre-health committee.

I really want to send my committee letter but I don't want to exclude very valuable letters either, if they seem to take a max of 3 letters, should I send the committee letter and 2 individual letters as well? Or am I supposed to not send anything else if I'm sending a committee letter?
Also, if you advise to send either 1 committee or 3 individual letters, which one should I go for?

some thoughts here:

1) You have no letters from science professors who taught you in a class, which many med schools require at least 2 science profs. Research Advisor may not be acceptable to fulfill this at some schools or at least will be less than optimal.
2) Some UG schools have limits on what letters they will review for a committee letter, usually only faculty/staff at that school. Depending on ER, docs may or may not be included. Again, they want to evaluate your academic work in class primarily.
3) Some medical schools are not particularly impressed by letters from physicians you shadowed or scribed for as, again, they are primarily looking for insight academic performance
4) Some medical schools prefer committee letters, especially if you are coming from a UG with a strong/well known committee. This tends to be the private medical schools that seek this. However, it varies widely by medical school as does the judgement by these schools which UG committee is strong.

Right now, I would say you need to get at least 1 letter from a science prof you took a course with as neither any committee letter nor individual letters will fulfill that.

Thank you for taking time to reply to my post.
I think I should add that the research advisor is a biology professor at my university from whom I took 2 courses which led her to invite me to do research with her.

Thanks again for the information.
