i made a long drawn out post about my problem... but i deleted it because i dont want to bore you with my problem... but however i do need your advice... can you sue the company you work for while you work for them? im afraid that if i do i will get fired straight out. or they will be sneaky and try to fire me for some bull**** reason... ie if im late to work X times they will fire me... there are no jobs in town so i cant move on... i dont want to make my work environment hell for myself either... but there is about 5k on the line here... any advice?

It's always a great idea to bite the hand that feeds you.

Now, be of a good cheer!

It would get dicey.

What you could do is unionize your pharmacy, thus giving you a way for them to not just fire you on a whim. Because they will do that.

What you could do is unionize your pharmacy,

That's always easier done than said.

Oh...I wonder why unionized pharmacies are always disorganized, inefficient with most of the workers in a zombie state.

Yeah, you can, but you're right - they will be gunning for you after that. 5k vs. your job, think about that for a minute.

This. I wouldn't in the first place but if you are hell-bent on it, you'd better be 100% positive you'd win because your case is so air-tight. Even then, you'd probably still lose your job in the end.

im pretty much 100% ill win on my case. it was a bookkeeping screw up that led to an irs audit that led to me having pay out after an audit. the company later admitted the mistake but they wont help me out or pay for the damages.

Somehow that's so similar with our education quality in US...

If your employer did not withhold enough Federal income tax and if you underpaid, then it's your fault in mispreparation of your filing.

If your employer and employers understated your total income and if you underpaid, it's your employer's fault. Kind of.

And if I'm way off base, perhaps you should explain your scenario.

Do you not have a lawyer you should turn to rather than a bunch of strangers on the internet?

I would feel no shame in getting my butt kicked by Чёрная вдова, Chyornaya vdova Natalia "Natasha" Alianovna Romanova.

In theory, sure.

In practice, this is a terrible idea. Five years down the line when you're looking for your next job and the first thing that comes up on Google with your name is the story of how you sued your employer...you can bet finding a job will be difficult.

A family member did this same sort of thing and his entire life fell apart around him. He may have been right, but the lawsuit wasn't worth the toll it took on him.
