So I am a freshman premed and my schedule is going to be a bit crazy next semester as I will be working as a TA and may also get involved with some research, and the professors at my university are not good at teaching intro psych and soc courses. Will it be appropriate to take these courses online at my college? Do medical schools care about online social science courses? If I take this step, this will ensure that I am able to take physics 1 next semester, otherwise I will have to take physics in my junior year if I take an on-campus version of the above-mentioned courses which will delay my MCAT preparation. Thank you in advance!

during secondary applications, some schools will ask you which classes you've taken online (yale comes to mind) but the primary AMCAS application does not. generally, offline classes are always preferable – but taking intro humanities courses online is not a big deal, and might not even be noticed on your application.

my undergraduate institution moved a lot of my general education classes online due to budget cuts, but this didn't get mentioned at any of my interviews. just avoid taking online versions of core pre-med classes like chemistry or biology.

Some med schools require Psy/Soc courses as prereqs. Some schools do not allow online prereqs. You would need to look at individual schools requirements in MSAR and see how much this could lmit you . As I tell all applicants, since you want to be able to apply to the broadest possible array of medical schools and not limit yourself by not having the widest array of prereqs, be cautious in what you can take online. This of course has to be balanced with your current schedule and keeping GPA high

Though you need some psych and sociology coursework to help for MCAT studying, most medical schools do not require any specific coursework. One of the most popular AP courses is AP psych, so many students have no formal college level coursework in psych, bc they took AP in HS. As @gonnif says, check the MSAR to see which med schools require these courses and forbid online coursework. Of course, med schools are also free to change their minds and change their requirements with little notice as well...
