Can I take Step III?

If I'm done with graduation requirements by december, can I sit for step III w/o having started my intern year? I understand that most states require that you're in an internship for a certain period of time before you can actually sit for step III but are there any states that just require a MD degree? Also, do you think it would be difficult to pass step III without having any experience as an intern? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

there are lots of states that allow you to sit step III such as conneticut and california so you just register to do it for one of those states. As for experience as an intern - if you are doing FM, EM or IM then having the experience would probably be helpful but if you are doing something else you may end up forgetting your medicine.
