Hi all--

So, one of my letter writers is a very busy person (surgeon) and after agreeing to write a letter for me, she asked "can I just send you the letter, see if you approve, then just have you upload it for me?" I told her I thought I could, so now she has sent me her letter. but, is that allowed? Can I actually go onto AMCAS and make a Letter Writer account for her and upload this letter?

I'm worried because I don't want AMCAS to think I wrote myself a letter or something if they see that I made the account. Honestly, its a real letter and she asked me to do this. She didn't even type the letter-- she dictated it, haha. But it is actually a really nice letter, so I would like to use it, but I really dont want to have to bother her again to be like "nevermind, upload it for me" if I don't have to.

Thanks!

How many hours did you shadow the physician? Is there anything in the letter that suggests you had patient interaction/spoke with patients? Is there anything in the letter that you think will not be included from your other letters?

If you do that then the letter is no longer confidential and it will therefore carry less weight. You are technically not supposed to see any of your letters. I would not recommend doing it. If they can send an email its not much more difficult to add it so something like Interfolio.
