Can International dentists apply for regular DDS Program with DAT?

Hello everyone! I am starting this thread for everyone who took the DAT in hope of receiving a call from NYU for the international 3 year dentist program. In case we don't get a call, I just want to know if our DAT's can help us in applying as regular students for the regular 4 year DDS programs in other US and Canadian schools.

In US - Yes, if you have met other criteria such as minimum requirements, credits etc...

well you can apply but the main catch is that you need all the prerequisite courses. most of these courses include 6 credits of organic chemistry, 6 credits of english, 6 credits of biology, 6 credits of chemistry and 6 credits of biochemistry. that is a total of 10 courses, which you would have to take, which can be done over 2 terms if you do it full time. these courses are not in a regular BDS degree, rather in a BSc degree, so most of us will not have these credits. it is at least a year of school doing these courses before you can apply for the regular 4 year DDS program.

I believe Dental Schools would wave those credit requirements since we have a BDS Degree and that we have passed NBDE's. May be you need to send the ECE report to the school to prove that. Again you might want to confirm it with adea/aadsas.

Well the information I have posted is from a few schools I contacted directly. Some schools may waive those prerequisites, but the 6 or 7 schools I talked to directly informed me that you need a a degree which is 120 credits in the us/canada) but those 8 courses are prerequisites which I would have to do on top.
