can masters programs make up for a low DAT subsection?

Do schools throw out your application with a 16? I had a 17 in bio and got into my top 2 choices (they're not big name schools but still).
you definitely should retake imo. A masters can't make up for this.
some schools have cutoffs, esp for the PAT..i.e. roseman
buuut yeah. idk, i'm in a rut honestly. studying for it last time just took so much time and energy (i gave it 2 solid months)
congrats on your acceptances btw 🙂

Have you received any interviews as of now? The academics of your score seem just fine, and unfortunately, perceptual ability is kind of significant. I took the DAT three times and I never received any negative comments/questions from any school...actually I just got my 12/1 acceptance to University at Buffalo. I know it's a pain to take it for a third time, but what you could do is call the ADA and request an official paper copy of your first and second scores, and then send those scores along with your third score to each school. That way, they will see that you scored well in the past, if by chance your academic average went down a point on the third exam. I hope this helps. Good luck and keep the faith!
I don't think a 16 PAT will matter too much. I have a total of 7 interviews and the ones I've been to so far didn't mentioned my PAT.
Don't take what people say on here too literally, they are just giving their opinions. If you are really worried email or call the schools.

no i haven't received interviews. i also applied on the later side (early september)..soo yeah.
assuming i do well of course, can this make up for a 20/20/16? any opinions would be appreciated.
I don't mean to sound rude.... but let me get this straight...
you'd rather spend 1.5-2 years starting a masters, spend maybe $20-40k, just becuase you don't think you can improve a 16 in a single section (what is it? reading ? pat?)
and here is the worst part of that plan.......
you eventually still having to retake the DAT (cause of expiration requirement)

no dentalworks, that's not why i'm in the program. i'm in the masters program already because of a lower than avg. gpa (i should've mentioned that before). i took the DAT (2nd time) a month before I entered this masters program. when i apply for the 2013 cycle, i hope to have my grades up a significant amount...i was just wondering if my scores would be good enough.

and when i send my applications out for the next cycle..the scores will only a year old at that point, so i'm not sure of what you're referring to with the scores being expired?
Because you never mentioned the fact that you were already IN the masters program. I think its safe to assume that everyone here probably thought that you were thinking of applying to a masters program at this point in time.

Is the 16 in PAT? if yes, I think your fine, and also, how low of a GPA are we talking? 3.0 your okay, 2.0 = forget it

well, your in luck.... My understanding is, UDM is one of those schools that could care less about the PAT lolyes, it was in PAT. and my undergrad was 3.3/3.2/3.05 (cum./science/bcp)
random: i'm looking to apply to UDM next cycle. how do you like the school/area/people?
I love the school, I love my class mates, the area however lol, your in Detroit, what can you expect?
