I'm sure this question must exist on this forum somewhere but I haven't been able to find it. One of my research supervisors was also the instructor for a course I took. Since I have to ask her for a letter of rec anyway, will her letter also count as one of my three academic letters (or whatever the letters the MD onlys have to provide are called)? My school just forwards letters, no committee.

Thanks.

I think that as long as she addresses "you, the student" and "you, the researcher" it shouldn't matter. I've read previously on this forum that MD/PhD programs in particular are kind of lax on the exact requirements for rec letters as long as you have good ones.
