Hello,

I am matriculating to a school this fall that is requiring me to complete my hep b series + titer before October (They are beginning some patient-interaction class around that time, therefore they want vaccinations done).

I'm starting my series tomorrow, which means I won't be complete until Late September- Late October.

Can the school "kick me out" of the MD program or from the class for not completing the requirements by then, even though I'm trying and I'm in the process of getting it done?

Additionally, if my titer ends up being negative again and I need another series of shots, I won't be done until 2017!

Maybe I'm over reacting, but if you are putting the effort into getting your requirements done, it should be ok right?

Thanks!

If you talk to the school, keep them in the loop and update them with each additional vaccination, you'll have done your due diligence. They can't fault you for that. Just don't try to hide it, play dumb, or be anything other than completely up front. Don't give them a reason to turn a small thing into something bigger.

You'll be fine. If they expected everyone with a negative titer to have their series done by the time school starts, it would be ridiculously unfair to admit people any time after February-ish, which they obviously do.

Yeah I thought this was going to be a thread about not wanting to get vaccinated.. which would have been another discussion.
There's nothing more you can do about it now so don't stress out. Just get them as soon as you can.

My school said to finish the series whenever I can, even if it is while I am in school. If I am still negative in the titer, then to be tested for resistance
