can schools see how many dental schools you've applied to?

This might be a ridiculous question... but I applied to every school in the country.... and I have average stats... but I have had no interviews. I'm wondering if this is the reason. 🙁

hahahah... why would u do that??? Some schools don't even look at ur app if you are out of state... and btw.. did you finish the secondaries??? Maybe ur application is not even complete and that is why you didn't get an interview.

And yes... how much was this???

Schools really don't see what other schools you've applied to? I was always under the impression that they did... or at least that they could if they wanted to.

This year schools have access to your file and who you've put deposits down or accepted offers from. I don't see why they wouldn't be able to see where you've applied either.

Dental schools DO KNOW which other dental schools you've applied to. It shows up on the AADSAS application print-out application that are sent to each individual schools.

I know an admissions counselor for a dental school on the East Coast who told me that applying to more than 15 dental schools make them think that you're applying to plenty of palces just to get into dental school. Looks bad. But whatevers, as my friend applied to 19 dental schools, and has 11 dental school interview invites. I wish him luck spending $$$$ travelling to all 11 dental schools if he wishes to attend all their interviews!! 😀

Can anyone give an update on this? I'm not applying to all the schools but I'm thinking about applying to half of them. Has anyone ever done 20+ with sub average scores and if so, how many interviews did you get?

Yes they can see how many and which schools that you applied to. Now, a lot of people think that applying to a large # of schools would be bad for your application. But what if you say "Your school is my #1 selection, however the reason that I applied to ## Dental Schools was due to the fact that regardless of location, I am certain that this is the career path that I want and have dedicated myself to completely."

Now that would look good.... (Not that I've done this or anything...) I did get into my #1 :-D

I bet your parents are paying. How can they afford that?
I have to ask why you would bother applying to Harvard and other top tier schools? and as some others said before you. They know where you applied.

Hi. I paid for it with my savings. All my interviewers have been impressed with my determination towards this career path. And I have multiple acceptances this year, although this year I only applied to 14 schools. Most schools do recall the candidate that applied to 52 schools... it's something they remember me by... and I'm grateful for that attention.

This is his 2nd year applying. the first year he applied to all schools and got no interviews. this year he only applied to 14 and got some acceptances and apparently impressed interviewers.
