Title says it all, I would really love the input of an adcom. Also, hypothetically, if you are matriculating at a similarly ranked institution but send a LOI to the WL school does it make a difference than if you were say going to a state school and on WL for a top 20?

At this point in time medical schools can see the schools that have accepted you, including schools that have waitlisted you. They will see that you have an acceptance and they presume that you will go to that school.

We never see where you are waitlisted (or where you applied).

A lofty school will already know from whence they can poach easily (whether you send an LOI or not).

Rephrase: every school, whether you applied or not, or are wait listed or not, can see where you have been accepted. Since after April 30 you can only hold 1 acceptance, they can now see where you plan to matriculate
thank you!
