I am interested in going into Psychiatry and I am currently applying (MS4).

Do I have to apply to separate rotating internship programs in addition to applying to psychiatry programs? If yes, is a transitional year ok instead of a rotating internship?

Thanks! :)

The vast majority of psychiatry residencies are inclusive. Meaning, the medicine and required neurology rotations are incorporated in-house. You should not have to apply to separate programs. While it does vary, most residencies have the 4 months medicine/2 months neurology in the first year of psychiatry.
