My school requires us to take step 2 ck before dec. 31. I had no other time to take it but during the time i was interviewing and couldn't really concentrate on studying. I passed it but got a low score. I got a 216 on step one. I got my step 2 score back after I was done interviewing. How badly will this score hurt me? Should I contact program directors to explain my step 2 score?

The best thing to do with step 2, if you have to take it like you did, is to take it after USMLE scores are released to the programs and make sure you don't automatically release any score updates, which is one of the ERAS options. That gives you control to check out your score before releasing it. If you did that, then they might not know. If you checked the box saying to automatically update the scores, then they've got the info, and I don't know what they'll do with it.
