The search button, the question has been asked a lot, in many different forms...
Here, to get you started... a question that attacks the issue while including the financial dynamic...
Bro I thought you did all your research and are set on gas?

I like this kid. Pre-allo needed some new blood.
The only new blood here is that supplying my facial muscles, which deepen my frown a little more with each new thread he makes.
This guy isn't even hiding it anymore. I think he's just trying to piss off as many people as possible now.

Watch Hopkins, Boston Med, and NY Med. I'm sure it's glorified and made to be more depressing than normal but yeah it's a good starting point if you aren't going to shadow a physician.

Also, nobody has ever responded well to people saying "Fresh Man" instead of freshmen. That is the stupidest thing ever.

I don't think those are more depressing than reality. Probably a lot more optimistic. They usually show decisive interventions that save patients' lives and return them close to baseline. They don't show the legions of patients with multi-organ end-stage disease that makes up a large bulk of inpatient care. Those people don't get better.
