And let me remind everyone that II's are not issued in chronological order based on when the application was submitted or the secondaries submitted. You may be lucky and your application is the first one read out of 30 assigned to a specific reader and you get an interview just days after being complete while someone else is the 30th and read 2 weeks later. Someone even less lucky will be assigned to a reader who tends to get backlogged and takes twice as long to get through the assigned 30 applications so a recommendation to interview comes 4 weeks from now.
Another thing to keep in mind is that we might identify the first 200 to be interviewed meaning that we are booked now until October -- but if we make IIs with October dates, it is likely that things will come up, and applicants will ask to reschedule making more work for the office staff and maybe leaving dates unfilled. Therefore, smart schedulers don't sent the interview invites until about 2-4 weeks before the interview. Given that so many are on zoom now, it isn't necessary to book a hotel and transportation so booking 6-8 weeks out as was done 10 years ago isn't necessary any more.
