I'm very very close to a music professor with whom I've helped found a korean percussion group in my university. I've been participating in it for two years so far.
This professor has a PhD, so let's lay that to rest.
But the fact is, I've never taken a real Course with him. I participated in his group for 4 semesters of 1 credit courses (so 4 credits total). But, however, we never interacted on a purely intellectual level.
I was wondering, is it ok to ask this professor for a letter of recommendation?? I know he will write me one, but I was wondering what medical schools thought considering I've never taken a comprehensive 4 credit course with him...
