I'm not sure what you meant by desk but I live in a spaceship.

🙁alright.... I was just hoping for some suggestions

IKEA galant corner desk is the bestest. Kinda pricey though.

I bought the largest (most desktop space), cheapest desk I could find. It has served me well. No need for too many drawers IMO.

Got it at [office supply store] 7-8 years ago. Selected for space, storage, and sale price. Chair is important, too. Replaced the original a couple of years ago as the first chair didn't hold up to well (i.e. only lasted 5 years).

I have a corner style computer desk, but its more for holding my computer and printer and supplies. I don't actually study at it.

My "desk" involves sitting in my big cushy chair in my living room, usually with a huge dry erase board across my legs to take notes on or do calculations and my textbook, assigment, or whatever on top of that. Works well, comfortable, sufficient workspace (room for a snack too) and no back or neck pain or anything from sitting too long.

I'd suggest one with a lot of space to spread out. IKEA has some good ones that won't cost too much. I have a hand-me-down desk that has almost no space to do work, so I usually study out on the dining room table.

I use a small size dining table, and love it! Lots of space to spread out and work.I got some non-skid bookends for about $10 (Great buy!!) on amazon and line my textbooks at the far end of the table (against a wall) with the bookends. I have a little plastic set of drawers under the desk for extra supplies. I've had traditional computer desks with a hutch before, but found I just like having a wide table space more than structured drawers/shelves etc.

a standing desk will change your life (and your posture) - from IKEA hackable (minimal investment) to $$$ perfection (in which case I recommend the focal upright). you only get one body.

Anyone use something like this? A little off topic but I'm planning to get a spinning bike to workout while doing some light studying.

Wondering how many people like to study at home while working out? Saves you the time of going to the gym and it's a great way to take a study break.

I go to school and grab a study room with a huge Meeting-style table with 8 chairs and an OMM table to lie down if I get tired

I have a huge desk that is basically a heavy oak board on 4 ikea legs. I love having a ton of space to spread out. I also have a PC with 3 monitors, so I need as much room as possible. I don't really like the Ikea particle board desks because they feel flimsy and some don't stand up well to water if you spill anything on it.

Yes. Nothing worse than getting hungry while studying and accidentally eating your desk (trust me).

It would be like you having a desk made out of fruit, or fruit loops.

I'm actually coo-coo for cocoa puffs. Sonny is my half-bro.

I think chair would be more important, still trying to find a good one. I also want a spacious desk, preferable with some drawers

Oh nice! I actually met him at a party a few years ago. He did a Michael Jackson-esque dance during Adele's 'Rolling in the Deep.' It made absolutely no sense at all.. but it was pretty fu@king awesome.

What is this thread about again?

You've seen him more recently than I. I haven't seen him since he went to rehab 🙁

I went to Walmart and got a huge (kitchen) table for I think $65 (probably much less). I have room to spread out all of my books, notes, etc. I also have room for my desktop, laptop and a printer.
It is glorious :angelic:
Plus a huge white board on the wall behind it.

(I guess mine was on a supersale the day I got it, but for what it is worth, I would pay this much for it!) As far as drawers, these puppies work wonders...

I have 6 of these things.

To save money, I got a plain wooden table (more like a small dining room table than an actual desk) at a garage sale for $10. It doesn't look fancy but I have a ton of space to work. And if I ever move and get an "actual" desk, then I can use this as a dining room table.

I picked up a free, huge desk off Craigslist. I then covered one half of it in white paper and heavy duty page-protectors. Boom, half of my desk is a whiteboard for scratch work while I'm studying!

I want the L Sectional but holy **** they're expensive. Or maybe I've just never looked at furniture prices before...? I may be in for a rude awakening come July/August.

You can create a similar setup for under $1000 from Ikea. They have modular sofas, just buy an extra footrest or two and you have the same thing.

Thanks! I love my Ikea furniture so that's awesome. I only have dressers and night stands, though. Do you know if their sofas are comfortable?

They're not like those awesome overly-stuffed couches that feel like you're sitting on a cloud, but they're definitely not uncomfortable either.
