Can you apply to Tufts without 30 hrs of shadowing experience?

It says you need minimum of 30 hrs of observing/assisting in general dentist's office. So, I guess you can't apply if you don't have that. rite?? 🙁

The prerequisites classes that you have to take generally must be completed before matriculation into dental school. The shadowing requirements, I would assume, should be completed before the interview. That way, you can somewhat support your answer to the question "Why do you want to be a dentist?"

They are one of the only schools to "verify" it by requesting a letter from the dentist that you shadowed explaining your experience there. However, you don't have to by the time you apply...I mean, it's not like they'd know, and they certainly don't ask dental-related questions. Just make sure you have a dentist to write your letter, and if it's just a matter of the 30 hours, knock off a good 5 days over the next few weeks and bam! There you go 🙂

Tufts is a bit picky about their requirements...I remember at my interview they had each person meet with a member of the administration briefly to make sure they had everything all set and ready to go (made sure everyone had taken biochem...that sort of thing.) Each school is different!

They never tried to verify my hours

Does Biochem have to be taken before you apply? or before matriculation?

do you have to have proof of a dent you shadowed in some sort of way?

what if you shadowed at various dent offices? I shadowed at like 4 diff ones, 2 specialty ones

Additional Requirement:
A minimum of 30 hours observing/assisting in a general dentist's office

think it has to be from one dentist. if the dentists know each other maybe (s)he can say you shadowed for '30 hours' in a letter even if it was not for that long. or make a composite somehow?
