I've been put on the waiting list at Stony Brook. I was just wondering if I retake the DATs at the end of May, will I be able to improve my chances of getting in? Has anyone been in the same situation?

It depends if the waitlist is ranked or not. If it is not ranked, they say they consider all the candidates when a spot becomes available. In that case, taying active, sending letters o intend (as well as big donations), and scoring higher on DAT can only help your chances. I am not sure how much the waitlist for SB will move considering its reputation and that it is a state school.
Best of luck.

The secretary at StonyB told me that the list is not ranked, but I just wanted to make sure!

at the interview they said that only 1-3 spots open every year and that it fluctuates from year to year from 1-3. Keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer every night

This is so weird. Is it possible that private schools operate differently in regards to the waiting list than public schools? What makes me doubt this is because I can't contact a professor or somebody directly related to the selection process. When I call StonyB, I can only speak to the secretary and I'm not totally sure if she knows the process.
