Thank you in advance for going through all of this lol So my stats are GPA 3.5 SGPA 3.3 MCAT 507 and I am an ORM Illinois Resident

  • * I also have 4 excellent LORS (Undergrad Research, 1 PI, Sci Prof, and 1 non Sci Prof + 1 DO letter) and a committee letter

  • University of Louisville School of Medicine
  • Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine
  • Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science

I also eliminated these schools just because they had really high amounts of OOS applicants (the Matriculant/Applicant ratio was very low) or interview percentage was low (please tell me if it is worth applying to any of these schools)
  • Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine
  • "Wayne State University School of Medicine"
  • Indiana University School of Medicine
  • Medical College of Wisconsin
  • University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville
  • Central Michigan University College of Medicine

Where do you live in IL? SIU has a specific geographic area they draw from. That’s rural IL - mainly south of I80. So if you don’t live there you can cut them out. You also have some OOS public schools on your list. Did you check to see if they accept OOS applicants with your stats? Or if they accept enough to make it worth your while? Good luck. Why not UofI?

yeah unfortunately I do not (just checked and I live 2 mile north lol) I live in the Chicagoland area. I knew they had a preference but is it a deal breaker? Also I didn't apply to UIC because my MCAT and GPA are not even in the 25 percentile. Also I just assumed UofI (carle) requires students who took engineering courses. If that isn't a requirement I will be willing to apply

Also most of the OOS schools I applied to had the lowest stats but still had a decent amount of OOS students

You are competitive for all the DO schools on your list. For MD schools I suggest these:
U Illinois
Rosalind Franklin
Loyola
Medical College Wisconsin
Vermont
Quinnipiac
Seton Hall
Penn State
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
George Washington
NOVA MD
Oakland Beaumont
TCU-UNT
Loma Linda

I’d apply to UofI anyway. You are instate so there is always a chance. You can apply to SIU . The only reason I mentioned it was because you were looking to cut your list down. And I don’t know anything about Carle. It’s new so I haven’t read up much on it. Good Luck.

Is it worth applying to Loma Linda if I am not Christian (grew up practicing a non abrahamic religion)
