Can you write on computer screen with marker?

1. Hey everyone, I was wondering if you can write on the computer screen with the dry erase marker, such as when marking cubes during cube counting?

I know that you "could", but will it erase?

What about CRT vs. LCD?

2. Also, does anyone know if you can use the "Find" feature of windows during the RC section? I can't remember if this works or not during the test...

Haha, dude, I was thinking about the Find feature too. It would be a great shortcut for RC, but I'm sure they would have most probably blocked that feature.I mean if you can find the keyword that way, then what is the point of reading COMPREHENSION?

That's a big fat negative... if my memory serves me well, I'm pretty sure that they explicitly say that you cannot touch the computer screen (much less draw on it with a dry erase marker) during the exam - especially for the PAT section. This might just be me, but I think that marking the screen for the cube counting section would completely nullify measurement of your "perceptual ability" through this section.

If you still want to try it, I'd be extremely careful. Although the Prometric proctors might not be in the room watching you the entire time, my test center had cameras covering every inch of the room, and I have no doubt that they go back and review the video afterwards at will.

I agree with PSU. You don't want to risk having your scores voided over a little thing like touching the screen. They are super strict about following every single detailed rule at Prometric. Just look at what happened to rezvan24 last week: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=535688 . If your scores are voided you have to wait two years to take the DAT again.

LOL. Control F would be awesome though. Do the real prometric computers even run with windows?? Because I've heard that when the proctor "opens up" your exam, you can't minimize, or exit the DAT program?? Also, are the computer brand new......flat-screen... etc??

I wouldn't try anything because it would not be worth it if you find out it is against the rules and got caught. I am tempted to go in there with jeans and a shirt my ID and nothing else. I am leaving everything in the car.

ctrl+f doesn't work for sure. yeah i was scared to even touch the monitor or wear a sweater o_o.. they are pretty strict (but reasonable)

No but they give you the option of throwing the monitor against the wall if you dont like your scores 👍

You might want to try hitting Alt+F4 while taking the test. I heard it adds three points to your AA. 🙂

thatsw pretty gay that we dnt get to touch the computer screen especially for covering up angles and or writing on the screen for numbering the blocks...people that took it in a paper test were able to do this so why cant we
